This potential safety risk may arise during maintenance activities, such as replacing aircraft loads connected to SSPC channels with excessive leakage. In addition, the inherent "fault shutdown" property of SSSD may be a safety issue. This issue has become a key element of commercial aircraft SSPC technology certification, therefore, secondary protection measures are usually required. If SSPC is used for control and fault protection of aircraft EPDS, the vulnerabilities of SSPC are alleviated. Especially, we need an EPD based on SPPC that minimizes voltage drop, minimizes safety risks caused by leakage current, minimizes the risk of interference tripping caused by lightning strikes, and minimizes the risk of damage caused by high surge currents.
