The upgrade of the F-16 main generator includes steel rotor wedges, diode upgrades, wire sealing improvements, and EPA approved packaging materials.

58彩票F-16 A/B/C/D 40KVA/60KVA Generator Upgrade: Collins (UTAS/Hamilton Sundstrand) made significant improvements to the F-16 A/B/C/D generator to increase MTBF, and released these changes based on Collins (UTAS/Hamilton Sundstrand) MMB 1442 and 1492, affecting the DLM technical manual, parts breakdown diagram, T.O.8A6-8-11-4. Improvements were made by replacing old wedges and diodes with new stainless steel wedges (modifying winding programs to eliminate joint breakage and reduce imbalance limits) and new 1600V diodes (significantly reducing harmful faults on site). For 40KVA and 60KVA generators, these upgrade kits are named 174-37A and 174-38, respectively. According to the MMB 1442 and 1492 announcements, the modified AC generator is marked with the symbol MMB 1442 or MMB1492 on the identification plate. If there is no MMB 1442 or MMB1492 mark on the generator nameplate, the generator requires this upgrade to achieve a higher MTBF.

The system was originally designed by Westinghouse Electric Company in the 1980s, with a high-speed, air-cooled generator, rated power of 10kVA, PMG constant power, and variable speed constant frequency with a frequency converter.
