Application of Current Sensor - Safe Use, Reliable Isolation - [Vekwei]

How do we measure current? Because current always generates a magnetic field, the Hall effect and other sensors allow us to measure the magnetic field and thus measure the current, which is typicalApplication of Current Sensor. You can also connect a shunt resistor inside the circuit to directly measure the current, just like classic ammeters and current dividers. We will introduce these two methods in the following content. You may have heard of open-loop and closed-loop current sensors. What's the difference?

电流传感器应用

Open loop current sensors are generally cheaper than closed-loop sensors such as zero flux current sensors. The application of current sensors is composed of Hall effect sensors installed in the gap between magnetic cores. The output of the Hall effect sensor is amplified to measure the magnetic field generated by the current, without being in contact with the current, which provides current isolation between the circuit and the sensor. Some open-loop current sensors have compensating electronic components that help compensate for drift caused by environmental temperature changes. Compared with closed-loop sensors, open-loop sensors have a smaller volume and lower cost. They have low power requirements and can be used to measure both AC and DC currents. Meanwhile, their accuracy is not as good as their closed-loop cousins: they are affected by saturation and provide poor temperature compensation and noise resistance.
