270V contactor

270V Contactor - ECE Aerospace - LEACH Aerospace - [Vickers]

Why are airplanes and most military equipment powered by a 400Hz (cyclic) power source, including the requirements of this standard worldwide. Because wherever you fly, you will have a 400Hz power supply with a standard plug suitable for your aircraft. Of course, there are also some exceptions. Small and old aircraft use a 28 VDC system, while small airports may only have a 28 VDC power supply. Therefore, older systems such as ECE Aviation and LEACH Aerospace mainly use 28V and 115V products. However, new models will promote 270V systems, so 270V contactors are the topic that the editor will focus on discussing today. So in fact, our old power supply has two standards, 28VDC andThe 400Hz AC system is the mainstay of commercial and military aviation, as high power is required in such situations.

In the past 16 years, the use of the third system using 270V DC has been increasing. As early as November 17, 1975, MIL-STD-704B first defined the standard for 270VDC systems used in aviation. Although battery systems with this voltage had already been used in submarines as early as 1900. The important reason for the promotion of the 270 volt DC system is the increase in power density and capacity of aircraft mounted equipment and loads, and the new interest is due to stealth concerns and design changes in modern fighter jets.

Analyze the aircraft's AC system, such as whether 400Hz is invisible direct current (DC). Although the 270 VDC military specification (MIL-STD-704F) introduced in 1975 remained valid until its last update in 2004, it did not include all the requirements required for modern 270 VDC fighter jets. The new generation of aircraft, especially the F/A-22 Raptor and the Joint Strike Fighter F-35 Lightning, require a more precise and responsive system that can be customized according to the specific requirements of the aircraft manufacturer. Simply put, although this is a 270 volt DC system that requires defining a power supply, it far exceeds the performance of the old 2004 MIL-STD-704F. This requires creating a 270 VDC system for the new aircraft. The previous generation of fighter jets used a dual hydraulic system to move the flight control surface. If the aircraft suffers damage and liquid loss, this will be a major hazard.

The aircraft's 270V DC power supply system is highly suitable for meeting all of these requirements. The performance of the onboard power supply matches the performance of the external power supply constructed by the FCX system. This allows for comprehensive maintenance, including flight control response testing, to be carried out inside the hangar. External power sources undergo voltage stability and recovery testing under various load configurations, conversions, and pulse loads. Record the power performance and check the voltage transient response during the load standard period to ensure that the voltage remains within the limits for aircraft safety. In 2000, the first modern 270 volt DC power supply was provided for the first F/A-22 Raptor, and continued to support 270 volt DC aircraft on site and on the JSF assembly line in the United States, Italy, and Japan.
