Solid state power controller(SSPC)It is a semiconductor device that controls the power (voltage and/or current) provided to the load.They perform monitoring and diagnostic functions to identify overload conditions and prevent short circuits.SSPCs are similar to electronic circuit breakers in that they protect loads from dangerous faults, but they are used in more critical power systems such as airplanes because they are more reliable and faster when turning off power.SSPC is an intelligent controller that can control the output of critical loads to ensure normal operation.Some contain microprocessors that can be programmed to increase control features.Unlike circuit breakers, SSPC provides true ItwoT protection.When there is excessive energy transfer, SSPC will cut off the power supply, and the circuit breaker will only trip when the current reaches its transition point.If a short circuit occurs in the system and the current slowly increases instead of immediately reaching the jump point, thenSSPCThe ItwoT protection will turn off the output.The following formula and graph demonstrate this function.
