US media: The People's Liberation Army is developing the Dongfeng 27 hypersonic missile, which will have a full range covering Hawaii
The suborbital reusable carrier independently developed by China completed its first flight on July 16th this year and achieved great success. However, this experiment has been portrayed by Western media as a military threat to China, as such spacecraft are usually launched into space by rockets, then fly in orbit, and finally land smoothly at the designated airport. However, the US military has taken advantage of the media to extensively promote that China is testing a new type of hypersonic missile. Even named it "orbital nuclear weapon" with great seriousness. What is the concept of this weapon? Simply put, China's hypersonic missiles can hover in space and precisely strike certain military targets. Whether such a weapon can be made with China's current scientific and technological level, Americans may have no idea, but they still pretend to be confused. Recently, American media began to hype up the Dongfeng missile again, stating that the People's Liberation Army is developing the Dongfeng 27 hypersonic missile. Regarding this missile, in the eyes of American media, it may be a combination of the Dongfeng 26 missile body and the Dongfeng 17 warhead. This combination can increase the range of the new missile by nearly twice. It should be noted that the range of the Dongfeng 26 is nearly 4000 kilometers, which means that the range of the Dongfeng 27 will fully cover Hawaii. Although the reports from American media may seem like that, they have no evidence to prove that the People's Liberation Army has started researching the Dongfeng 27. Not surprisingly, this is to play up the threat of China's military power, a weapon imagined and assumed by the Americans. What is the root cause behind the American hype? Some analysts believe that there are two main reasons for this. Firstly, it is a prediction from the United States regarding our future weapon research. As is well known, our Dongfeng series currently has the Dongfeng 41 with a range of over 10000 kilometers and the Dongfeng 26 capable of striking the US military base in Guam. However, there is a fault in between, so it is very reasonable to design a weapon with a range of about 8000 kilometers. But the US military is not sure if we have developed this weapon, so they tentatively hyped it up to see our reaction. Secondly, the US military is currently developing hypersonic missiles, but the results have not been ideal and are still far behind us. What should we do about this? The solution is simple, which is to increase money and constantly promote China's military threat, so that Congress is willing to withdraw more funds from its pocket.
