Jilin-1 has become the largest commercial remote sensing satellite constellation in China
Recently, the "Jilin-1" Gaofen02D satellite was successfully launched. So far, the "Jilin-1" satellite constellation has a total of 30 satellites in orbit, forming China's largest commercial remote sensing satellite "Tiantuan".
Jilin-1 is independently developed and operated by Changguang Satellite Technology Co., Ltd. In October 2015, the first batch of "Jilin-1" commercial optical remote sensing satellites were successfully launched, embarking on a journey into space. What role can the "Jilin-1" with 30 satellites in orbit play now?
58彩票Jia Hongguang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of Changguang Satellite Technology Co., Ltd., introduced that the cumulative coverage area of the "Jilin-1" satellite constellation has reached 133 million square kilometers, with the ability to update one global map once a year and one national map three times a year. Based on the remote sensing data from "Jilin-1", Changguang Satellite utilizes artificial intelligence algorithms to achieve precise and automated updates of national surface classification. It can automatically identify buildings, roads, water bodies, trees, and different types of crops online with an accuracy of over 95%.
Not only can it be seen clearly, but with its fast response speed and wide coverage area, the "Jilin-1" satellite constellation has been commercially applied in many fields. "In the past, people had to rely on people to get out of danger. In autumn, people got out before dawn, and they could go home after dark." Zhang Xuemin, deputy general manager of the Nong'an Branch of PICC Property and Casualty Insurance Changchun Branch, said that because of the large area of farmland, in the past, they could only use spot checks to survey and rely on their feet to measure and calculate step by step.
With the assistance of hard core equipment such as the "Jilin-1" satellite, Zhang Xuemin's way of working has changed. Since 2017, Changguang Satellite has collaborated with Zhang Xuemin's insurance company to combine imagery from the "Jilin-1" satellite, drone imagery, field investigations, sampling, and other methods to adopt an integrated data collection and analysis approach that combines space, air, and ground, making agricultural insurance surveys more efficient and convenient. Engineer Qu Chunmei from Changguang Satellite Technology Co., Ltd. introduced that the application of remote sensing information from the "Jilin-1" satellite can provide more than 150 precise services for 14 fields including agriculture, forestry, water conservancy, environmental protection, transportation, natural resources, and urban construction.
58彩票The constellation is expanding its scale according to plan. Jia Hongguang said that it is expected that around 2025, the "Jilin-1" satellite constellation will achieve a network of 138 satellites. At that time, the service capabilities of the "Jilin-1" satellite constellation will be greatly improved, providing users with richer and more efficient remote sensing information services and bringing more convenience to people's lives.
