After the US Coast Guard reported that the Chinese Navy's 0.55 million ton destroyer fleet had advanced into Alaska and entered 12 nautical miles into the United States, US media reported on September 13th that the Shandong aircraft carrier strike group had been deployed to remotely monitor the US aircraft carrier strike group in the South China Sea. This is the latest retaliation by the Chinese Navy against the US military's "freedom of navigation" movement, especially by utilizing China's powerful aircraft carrier strike group and preparing to "strike the US aircraft carrier strike group" at any time.
According to US commercial satellite imagery (Figure 1), on September 11th, the Chinese Navy's Shandong aircraft carrier strike group was in the South China Sea, close to the central waters of Vietnam. At the same time, in the southwest direction of the Chinese Navy's Shandong aircraft carrier strike group, about 480 nautical miles (about 889 kilometers) away, the US Navy's Carl Vinson aircraft carrier was in the Natuna area of the South China Sea, which is the closest distance between Chinese and American aircraft carriers. In August, the Chinese Navy's Shandong aircraft carrier strike group closely approached the British Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier for attack, with the two fleets separated by 580 nautical miles (Figure 2).
In April 2021, the Chinese Navy's Liaoning aircraft carrier strike group was only 560 kilometers away from the US Navy's Roosevelt aircraft carrier. At that time, US media reported that "if a gun were to fire, the Roosevelt would be unable to escape from the South China Sea. Since September 11th, US satellite imagery has confirmed that at least one Chinese Navy 052D destroyer is closely following the US Navy's Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group, with a sailing distance of 5-10 kilometers (Figure 3). The crew members on the Carl Vinson aircraft carrier strike group can be seen with the naked eye.
The USS Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group of the United States Navy operated in the southwestern South China Sea from September 10 to 12, reaching the Natuna Sea in the South China Sea, as well as waters near Malaysia and Indonesia.
On September 12th, the US Navy's Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group, which was tracked and monitored by Chinese warships, announced that its military operations were "legalized" and that it was conducting free navigation. At the same time, it was also confirmed that it was being tracked and monitored by Chinese naval warships.
Obviously, the Chinese Navy is launching a full-scale attack, dispatching a 05.5 million ton large destroyer fleet to enter the waters of Alaska and 12 nautical miles from the United States for "free navigation". Still in the South China Sea, deploying the Shandong aircraft carrier strike group to counter the provocation of the US aircraft carrier. Obviously, the full deployment of the Chinese navy will effectively counter the US military's clamor for "freedom of navigation", seriously undermining the confidence of the US military. Warning the United States that if it dares to challenge China's sovereignty, it will inevitably face fierce retaliation.
