FAA and EASA approve Dassault Aviation's Falcon 8X business jet to adopt dual level display configuration
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) have approved the adoption of a dual level display configuration for the Dassault Aviation Falcon 8X business jet, allowing two pilots to share the same Enhanced Flight Visual System (EFVS) for landing in near zero conditions (limited or no visibility).
The head up display is called "FalconEye" and was developed and produced by Dassault Aviation in 2016. It can combine synthetic, database driven terrain mapping with actual thermal and low light images to improveaircraftAbility to operate in low visibility environments.
Dassault Aviation also plans to obtain certification for the dual level display configuration of the "Hayabusa" 6X, which will be put into operation in 2023, and the "Hayabusa" 10X, which will be put into operation in 2025.
